    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is the usage of information that's not accessible to your character in your roleplay. Essentially, the character is acting omniscience to what he/she has available to them.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is when someone commands your, or someone else's player, to do things they had no intentions on doing. For example, if someone were to walk up to your character and say "soandso stabs you in the stomach and runs away," that's powergaming. They

Vyktor Xaraxis was abandoned and left to die in the wilderness of Atlas by his parents for an unknown reason. He was taken in by a fellow Dark Elf; an elderly hermit by the name of Rae'tha. Rae'tha was banished to the wilderness for practicing the dark art of Necromancy. During his first few years, he taught him the common tongue, and several skills on how to survive in the wilderness.  As the years passed, Rae'tha began to realize his time was coming to an end in this world. He continued to teach Vyktor valuable skills on survival in the wilderness, and of the cultural arts of the Dark Elves, including the folk songs of his youth, and the art of sculpting small granite statues (Taken from the Dark Elves Lore section. When Rae'tha was approaching his end, he took Vyktor to his side, and urged him to return to society, suggesting he re-assimilate into the Dark Elves' culture, and live out his life with his kin. Rae'tha passed away days later, and Vyktor cremated him and scattered his ashes around his homestead. The hardest point in Vyktor's life was upholding the plea to him by Rae'tha, to which he packed his few belongings, and head out into the wilderness of the land of Atlas...

Physical Description: Vyktor is 6'3", thin, with black hair and crimson eyes. His hair is short and combed back, and his clothing is dark gray leather with red marks on it.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

Ø  Your metagaming definition is a little off the mark- I'd suggest revising this using our LOTC wiki page, where the most correct and relevant information regarding these terms are :)

Ø  Please include at least one lore reference in your character biography- it could be a city name, world event or similar. Use our wiki page to find this lore

Ø  You cannot have any sort of knowledge in magic to start off with (i.e knowing necromancy). Magic is sone through applications on the forum once you've established yourself on the server
