The man’s sudden appearance provokes a subtle squint from the scarred lad. Den quickly scans the the man’s apparel as an appraisal of his possible social standing. Upon deciding just what the “friendly” man might be, he utters a response in monotoneh,

 

“Curiosity. But I’ve yet to decide what makes this worth the stay,”

 

Barely even shifting his facial expression, the lad awaits a response.
