You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
I take a few steps forward, gently taking a seat on the cushion, placing my bag by me. I stare at the old hag with intrigue, " Good to see that you were expecting me, I have travelled quite a distance, I expect that you'll make it worth my time. My name is Lorman Brim, I lived in the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. My father was a retired soldier in the army he had participated in the three month war and few other skirmishes for the kingdom during the time that he had served, He didn't achieve a high rank but was greatly appreciated by the few that fought by his side. Now that he has retired he works as a blacksmith, which I occasionally helped out with. My mom was a yoing maiden that married to my father at a young due to financial reasons, but she still greatly loves him. At a young age I would learn swordsmanship and blacksmithing from my father, this was what I spent most of my time doing, but during the times that I was not I would try to bargain and barter with other kids around my age to buy things from me. I have once fell of a cliff during a training session with my father and was found unconscious, I have made sure to be more vary on large heights from then on. Unfortunately we have never been well off financially but with mother getting sick and my father's business not doing too good we are in desperate need of money. With this I had come to the decision to move to the bustling Kingdom of Norland and began my blacksmithing career".
