She glanced over towards the gentleman, she took in a sharp breath and smiled. “I’m actually just here to see the library. Heard it was massive and had to make my way here to see it.”
The gentleman nodded his head “Ah a book worm and scholar! Are you one of those blokes here trying to find magic? If yer lookin’ for teachers and info on magic around this area well. . . might wanna keep it to yerself. City doesn’t take kindly to the more magical visitors.”Lorelei nodded slowly, taking in all that information and avoiding cutting him off “Well thats nice to know, but no. I’m simply here for books on religions and different cultures. I’m an explorer.” She spoke out with a proud almost boastful tone. She reached into her pockets. “I’m sure a man like you isn’t going around asking a girl what shes doing in town out of the goodness of your heart.” She pulled a few pieces of coin from her pockets and flashed it to the gentleman. “Will this be more than enough for your protection to the library?” She chuckled at her own joke, but before she could say anything else the coins were swiped from her hands and the gentleman spoke out loudly “BUT OF COURSE MA’AM! I will never turn down a lass in need!” Lorelei gave a roll of her eyes to the man. From the walk to the main square to the library he couldn’t help but boast of his successful business and pure lineage. Lorelei couldn’t seem to find it in her to care. The sounds of the city and her sightseeing as she followed helped drown him out.
