In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I will be respectful of others and not harass other players.I am excited to begin playing with others in an organized environment. To avoid power gaming specifically, I will make sure to stay in line with my character's parameters and not attempt to act or move in a manner that exceeds the expectations and parameters of my character build.

In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Ensuring that everyone is having an enjoyable time is important! I want to play with others and respect them as well. Specifically, my character will not act on any information that my character would not have gained throughout he course of the game, despite what I might know.

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
