You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Aye, it's a long story, but seein' as you asked so nicely maybe you can help.."
Durin grabs a stool, sits down and takes a deep breath, as if he was about to give the old hag an ear full.
"I was born with a restlessness that set me heart ablaze. From an early age, I felt the pull o' adventure, a desire to delve deep 'neath the earth's embrace, beyond the familiar confines o' me mountain home. Growin' up amidst the caverns, I had heard tales of ancient mountains with uncharted depths, waitin' to reveal their secrets tae those stout-hearted enough to seek 'em.
With a determined glint in me eyes, I bade farewell tae me kin, slung a sturdy pack over me shoulder, and embarked on a grand journey to find a new mountain tae mine. Armed with me father's heirloom pickaxe and a well-worn map, I set forth on a quest that'd lead me through sprawling forests, o'er treacherous terrain, and across rushin' rivers.
Me journey was nae without its trials. I faced fierce storms that'd test the mettle o' even the hardiest, encountered elusive creatures that'd vanish into the shadows, and navigated through windin' canyons where the echoes of me footsteps were me sole companions. The map, though ancient and cryptic, guided me with a faint promise o' untapped riches awaitin' tae be unearthed."
Durin stops speaking momentarily to pull a wooden pipe from his pocket and a match to light it. He takes a long drag and continues.
"As days turned into weeks and then into months, me excitement began tae blend with a sense o' uncertainty. I had crossed vast distances, explored countless valleys, and scaled towerin' peaks, yet the mountain I sought remained as elusive as a wisp in the mists. Doubt gnawed at the edges o' me determination, and fatigue settled into me very bones.
But me spirit remained unbroken. With each sunrise, I'd rise with renewed hope and press on, driven by the tales of me forefathers and the thrill o' the unknown. I'd meet fellow travelers along the path, sharin' tales and wisdom, each meetin' reignitin' me sense o' purpose. The journey itself became the adventure I'd yearned for, a testament tae me resilience and dedication.
One fateful day, as I stood atop a windswept ridge, gazin' out over an uncharted expanse, a fire surged within me. I knew that the mountain I sought was out there, waitin' tae be claimed. With a deep breath, I pressed on, each step takin' me closer tae me elusive goal.
And so, I, Durin Stoneforge, the intrepid dwarf adventurer, pressed on. Me path was uncertain, me destination obscured, but me heart remained unwavering. I embraced the challenges, the doubts, and the moments o' solitary reflection, for I grasped that they were all threads in the grand tapestry of the adventure I'd embarked upon—a journey in pursuit of a new mountain, a journey that'd define me and forge me destiny."
He looks at the hag with hopefulness.
"So what do you think? can ye point me in the right direction?"
