You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
*an expression of skepticism and mistrust washed over my face*
"You're not someone i'm inclined to trust, but ..heh..I don't see what harm could come of this"
*My eyes widened as i'd drift of into a pleasing flashback of memories*
"Well..I was born in a mountain village in the farfolk land. I had loving parents who raised me in comfort being hard-working blacksmiths.Despite the, socially wam and communal environment of my village, we weren't foreign to desolation.I had been trained to fight and defend myself as a child like the rest of our village being prone to frequent raids from orcs and bandits"
*my warm expression would fadeinto a more serious tone, recounting my hate for Orcs*
"Not long after i grew into an adult, i spent much of my time living in the wilderness, living off of whatever i could hunt. Orcs especially, despite the easier to catch and more nutritious wildlife like deer flourishing all around me, if i saw one of those grotesque beasts i'd ensure that no one else would live to see them"
*i'd sigh with a hint of regret from my lost time in the forest*
"Despite my loss of time, i still gained skills i can offer as services.It's what has let me make a decent living to keep my stomach at bay"
"So you asked me what brings me to this town?"
*i'd raise my eyebrow, then roll my eyes out of acceptance for the ladies further curiosities*
"I'm just looking for new opportunities.People i can learn from, job offers or just close acquaintances that may have my back when the time comes."
"This dingy town is nothing more than the next step in my long journey to the power i seek. I'll do great things you know?" I smirked.
"Some day..."
"So.. who the pitchforks are *you* ?!"
*I questioned with an accusative tone, wondering how she was supposedly "expecting me", now out of this state of mind where i had been open to sharing my story, staring into those void like eyes where i saw nothing revealed of her true nature*
