You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Theo suddenly stops at his tracks, eyes the interior of the tent closely and cautiously sits on the cushion the hag gestured to. He starts nervously "Uh, hello I'm Theo, I'm from Balian. I never knew my father and my mother abandoned me to the docks. Some shipwrights found me as a child and brought me to the captain of their ship. She took me under her wing and gave me various tasks in the ship. I would care for the animals, since then I had always liked animals and their companionship. I would clean the decks, keep watch, handle the sails. I would say I grew up in the sea and my family was the crew. One night, we were caught in a brutal storm between two reefs known for their currents. As thunders clapped, I had to pour water out the ship and make sure animals don't get lost and pull on ropes when my crewmates told me. But it wasn't nature alone we had to contend with, suddenly we saw ruthless pirates eager to seize our vessel. I've always been afraid of pirates and I never knew how to fight properly so I hid with the animals. They boarded without warning and chaos erupted aboard. Long story short I lost my crew that night, I don't know what happened to the captain. I lost all my animals to the sea and I barely managed to escape with a timber I held on to. I am now seeking refuge and i have to earn some money to keep living. I want to find a group I can hold on to like my crewmates before and I want to care for animals. Most importantly I want to protect innocents from pirates and bandits. I will do everything in my power to see to that."
