You’ve just stepped off of the boat in the port of a massive and fortified city. Before you lies a sprawling bazaar, with numerous shops, stalls, and seated traders selling wares to folk of all walks of life. Just as you’re about to continue walking onwards, into the market, you’re approached by a well-dressed gentleman who looks upon you with a big smile. “Welcome!” He began. “What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?”
How do you respond? (below)
The halfling blinked, regaining her composure as she felt herself pause in thought. She might've zoned out, because her facial features seemed to appear blank. "Oh." she finally uttered out, as if she was snapping back to reality. Her mind was elsewhere - everything in the city capital had been inordinate from what she was brought up with. Everything was foreign to the halfling; every scent, every glimpse, every sound and breath. The man that stood, straddling his hands to the sides of his hips as he seemed to read her up and down like some interrogation. Varies of people of distinctive shape and size were clustered together, bodies shouldering eachother as they navigated a safe passage through the bazaar. Back onto the man, he seemed to walk the way of a more so lavished life in comparison to her. Now that she mentioned it, there seemed to be many who walked that way of life here. The question in mind boggled her for a brief moment, as the man probably might've begun to think she didn't quite catch the message.
"Adventure!" she responded, an endearing grin swept over her fair features; her big eyes, twinkling with light. Quite an daring statement for such a small thing.
(is third person alright? i wasn't sure if first person was necessary.)
