Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
The slight Mali'ker walks into the tent with a cloak furled around their form. They seem weary, paranoid. This was not their usual environ. Knowing the dank of the caves and cliffs was a claustrophobia they could abide. An enclosed space that is more of a nice and gently hug. Here, however, it was suffocating. Dipping into the tent for some fresh air... As fresh as it can be... They are met face to face with a hag. They freeze, jaw quivering.
"Ma'am I hadn't meant to intrude I just needed some-" than she had spoke of how she was expecting them. Normally they believed this to be some kind of panhandling. Fortune tellers desperate for gold that happen to have good insight. Yet, this hag bore a gravitas that seemed compelling. Not even compelling... Commanding. Even if she were a sham, they needed to abide. He sits down on the cushion, rubbing his knees nervously.
"I'm... I'm..." he begins. "Well I'm a runaway." the crone perks an eyebrow, begging he continue. "Pretty high-up house in the mountains. You'd not know their name. Serving some minor yet necessary role in the mountain city. Merchants. They looked to me to take my father's position. The stress... it got to me. I didn't want all that pressure... I-... I wasn't ready. So I abandoned my wealth and my family." the crone quirks a brow. "And being on your own is less stressful?". Grahm puffs his cheeks. "Didn't think it through. Can't even guarantee I won't go into an equally stressful position from hereon. No going back now. I am... On this thread of fate."
