Greetings Applicant! Welcome to The Lord of the Craft!

Before you can begin playing on our server, you need to Apply.

The following guide is designed to walk you through that process.

    Step One, The Forums:

    • Create an account on our forums, found here.
    • Read our server rules, found here.

    Step Two, Before Applying:

    • You must be at least thirteen (13) years old to join LotC. There are no exceptions to this rule.
    • Your application must entirely be your own original work. Plagiarism isn’t tolerated.
    • You cannot create a noble or royal character, or create a character that is friends with a noble or royal, without the permission of the player whose character’s child, or friend, you will be playing.
    • You cannot create a character that possesses magic, knows the details of magic, or is of an otherworldly or supernatural nature.
    • You cannot create a physically flawless character, as that would be a form of powergaming.
    • You cannot create an omniscient-type character, most knowledge should be learned in-game.
    • Your Character Age has to be at least eighteen (18), although if you are playing an Elf it is recommended, although not required, that you be at least fifty (50).
    • You can create an evil character, however, you should keep in mind that villainous characters must adhere to our villainy rules, and poor-quality villainy roleplay could lead to a blacklist.

    Step Three, Your Application:

    • You must have completely read the server rules to be accepted.
    • Your Character Name can be anything that fits into the fantasy spectrum. If you cannot come up with something yourself, we recommend using an online fantasy name generator.
    • Your Character Race has to be one of the descendant races, as seen on the drop-down list.
    • Your Character Gender has to be male or female, as seen on the drop-down list.
    • Your Character Age has to be at least eighteen (18), although if you are playing an Elf it is recommended, although not required, that you be at least fifty (50).
    • Your Physical Description should be a short summary of your character’s appearance and attire.
    • Your Personality Traits/Quirks should be a short summary of your character’s convictions, and other interesting personality aspects, with at least one negative characteristic being required.
    • Your Character Backstory should be a summary of your character’s life from birth up until their current age. You are required to reference at least two parts of lore on LotC, and this section has to be at least ten sentences in length.
    • Your Character Skin should match the gender, race, and physical description (as best as possible) of your character.
    • The Roleplay Scenario question should be kept short and sweet. Answer it to the best of your ability, and don’t be afraid to ask one of the Community Staff for help.
    • Generally, try to keep your application free of grammar mistakes and spelling errors. We aren’t looking for perfection, but a well-written application makes the reviewing process much smoother.

    Step Four, After Posting:

    • Keep checking to see if a Community Team member has picked up your application. You will receive either an Accepted, Pending, or Denied response. Most of the time, apps are placed on Pending, which means you need to make a few changes before you can be accepted. Once you’ve made the requested changes, send the Community Team member who is handling your application a message on the forums.
    • While waiting to be reviewed, feel free to log-on the server as a [Soul]. This is the unwhitelisted rank that applicants have, allowing them to fly around and explore the map, as well as chat with members of our community in the [WS] chat channel. Feel free to ask any questions you might have, whether they are about applying, roleplay, or whatever else you want to know about LotC. Our staff and players are always happy to help out new applicants!

    Roleplay Scenarios Example:

Imagine you’re roleplaying the character you’ve just created. Read and respond to the following scenario depending on how your character might react. Your response should be one emote, including a line or two of speech, and a line or two of action.

The following is an example answer we’ve created for your consideration:

    Example Scenario Question & Answer:

You are walking down the steps of your small abode after hearing the sound of shattering glass in the middle of the night. As you round the corner of the wall at the base of the stairwell, you come face to face with a masked thief, shocked at almost having run into you.

    How do you respond?

Out, out, get out of my house!” Charles barked, with a flustered and angered look. He jutted his arm out, with finger extended, to point at the rear door of his house.

All I remember from that night is the mom yelling "Thaeielyn, we must leave", I could hear the worry in her voice. I was very small, but now the worry made sense. My mother and father always had a bad feeling about Atlas, charming at glance but they believed there was an evil hiding in the island. My small, frail and warm feet touching the cold oak, sending a shiver up my body as I slowly got up. I walked down the stairs in my pajamas, my parents sitting at the table. They looked at me "Thaeielyn, we are leaving the island.." I-I couldn't believe the words that came out of their mouth, we couldn't leave Atlas? Atlas is our home..why would we ever leave. My parents grabbed a bag of food and a canteen of what looked like water and we left the house. They didn't notify anyone we were leaving, what if everyone else is in danger like we were according to my parents? We were leaving our relatives, our blood, our family behind.

We walked down to the harbor of ships, there was a little boat. The boat was old, and fragile looking, draped in a white sail and a lantern for light. I had a blanket wrapped around me, my mother's bright green eyes still had that worried look. I held my mother's hand as we got onto the old boat. My mother warned my father about the rough tides at night, my father rolled his eyes and stated "We'll be fine darling, don't worry.." We sailed off into the night, I was watching as all I ever knew faded away into the abyss. The tides pushed the small boat side to side, the boat almost tipping. My mother and I were holding onto each other tightly, my father standing up and trying to control the boat's sails. I was crying, I remember, I was frightened. Mother warned father not to go at night, and we didn't listen. I got the tears out of my eyes for a second and looked at my mother one last time as the boat flipped over. I felt the cold water it my skin, I couldn't see anything as I sunk farther. My life was flashing before my eyes, I tried to breath but instead felt the water cave into my lungs as my vision faded

The next thing I remember is waking up on the shores in my mothers arms as she was calling my name "Thaeielyn, Thaeielyn!" My eyes opened wide as I was so ecstatic to hear my mother's voice as I coughed up the salty  water. My mother's eyes filled with tears as she looked at me " Y-your father didn't make it Thaeie-lyn." I could hear the pain in her voice as it brought tears to my eyes. The man who did everything for us, raised me, cared for our family all these years was gone in seconds. A young wood elf who must have seen us from a far came over " Do you ladies need some assistant?" The young man didn't seem to know what just happened, but we didn't plan on giving him details. We walked into Irronior, our new home. My mother went off as the man pointed into the direction of where we can have a place too stay. I was sad, and cold, the man looked at me and told me to take a seat at the bench by the willow tree. He sat down beside me and began to tell me stories about how this place came too be. He told me that Arcas, when the wood elves first came over, they had no place to go. They struggled to find territory to be able to practice their beliefs, because at the time no one was willing to let them. My mother always hid me from our beliefs until I was a “little older.” He told me about our beliefs and I still go by them til this day. The man told me about El Narnsaeame, “the wild faith”, which made up the gods, faiths of the wood elves of Irronior. He told me that it was a great struggle for us to be able to find places to have our beliefs but one day, that all changed as two young Princes decided that the city Irronior was to be ruled by a trustful, faithful elf, so then came Lyemar Aureon to lead Irronior. This meaning that wood elves would finally have a place to be, a place to call home. This brought me some peace, the man looked at me and goes “You look like you’ve been through a lot, so if this helps anything, everyone who lives here, who lives until the Mani has a purpose.”

Years after that day, my mother and I grew up in Irronior, understanding the way things went and how to live normal again without my father. I grew up with kids in the branches of Irronior, learning about peace and understanding nature. Nature is a gift to the Wood Elves, and to our beliefs. “The Mani” I heard it throughout the rest of my years in Irronior. The elders, of course me looking up to them in my childhood years taught us that “The Mani would want us to respect the trees and the plains.” I became really interested into the aspects of the Elven Culture as I got older and began to understand it more. As my childhood years passed, I began to travel more, as I do now. I believe that every town has an adventure, and new people to meet. As long as I am welcome there, I do believe I will bring my best offering of peace.

Character Name: Thaeielyn Alnah
Character Race: Wood Elf
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 54
Physical Description: Long braided auburn hair, olive-shaped green eyes, 5'4, fragile build about 120 pounds, dawned in animal print on her caramel skin.
Personality Traits/Quirks: Thaeielyn is a very adventurous and out-going soul, she gets along with almost everyone she meets. She is very head-strong, but comes with a temper. She is very charming and can come off as flirty.
Roleplay Scenario:

The man walked over to Thaeielyn and stated “You’re beautiful, a smile could be the only thing you could do and it would make my day.”

Thaeielyn gave him a soft and muted smile and says “Sometimes I forget..thank you for reminding me, have a blessed day”

Thaeielyn walked away smiling, remembering how good it felt.

Ayo! Thank you for applying to Lord of the Craft. After reviewing your application,

I’ve picked out a few things that may need to be changed to pass our application process.

You have 24 hours to edit on the following changes.

  • Your definition fo Powergaming is bit too short. Please review the page on Metagaming and Powergaming if you need a reference. THe best way to lengthen a definition is to provide an example.

  • Your backstory requires at least one direct lore reference. The name of a continent is not considered a lore reference, neither is the name of a race nor a year. You can refer to the server’s Wikia Page for support if you wish.

  • I hate to be the one to say it, but the events in Atlas took place about 50 years ago from the servers current date. If you could, please fix this inconsistency.

When you have made the changes, feel free to

contact me through discord at @frog#0483 or shoot me a PM over the forums. If you require

further assistance, contact me or any Community Staff Member found

in our New Player Discord.
