Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

*As he sits down on the cushion, his bones crack and he begins to speak with a raspy yet high pitched voice* "I fought under the great General Bentnoze Necksnapper. He brought us blood and glory! I am lost from a shipwreck and came here to search for a living so I can eat food. Only three of us remain. My dream is to fight for glory again. My life is without meaning without battle."
*The hag lets out a laugh* "I can organize that for you."
*Grubfoot jumps up before speaking out in a desperate tone* "How? Can you bring me treasure too?"
"Yes.. All that and more, but you must do something for me in return." The hag croaked through rotting teeth
*Those were the last words Grubfoot remembered before he woke up in the gutter of a large city* "Huh? Where is the glory? Where is the treasure?"
