How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is using external information to gain an advantage in-game. Asking a friend in real life for help in the game is and example of metagaming.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is when you use wording that requires a specific action from another player. "Thorn fires an arrow that paralyzes Gwain" (the action is more of a demand than an invitation to try dodging the arrow)
