    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Having a character know things outside of their in-RP knowledge using your knowledge outside of that character.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is when you fully complete an action that heavily effects another player. For example, killing outright like saying "Nerri shoots Vega through the heart, killing him instantly" would be power gaming. Now attempting an action like this "Nerri takes aim at Vega's chest, shooting to kill" would not be, because they did not actually succeed unless both RPers have decided that it kills Vega.

Talia glanced around the vast area, eyes scanning for any hostile-looking people, only to be met with the grin of a gentleman in fine clothes. She rolled her eyes silently at his enthusiasm before responding in a quiet sarcastic tone. "I haven't decided yet, but I'll hunt you down the second I find out, for sure." She had honestly been mulling over what her plans were while the ship had tossed and turned, but now that the question had been posed verbally before her she was no closer to an answer than she had been at the start of her journey. She realized that she had drifted off into thought, and let out a quiet sigh before glancing back up at the man. "Well, it was nice meeting you, I had better get going." and she walked off to start her new life.
