You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Takes the seat and notices that I am being watched but keeps my cool and beings telling my journey "Well you old hag, I have come to find the holy grail and this village was near the way, I also was in need of supplies for my party." And goes on a long rant about a sad backstory on how my family was killed by some Goblins and finding out that the holy grail can bring back love ones to life. Then goes here and there with different stores on how I meet my party members. Meanwhile when I distract the old hag my party members begins stealing the villages supplies and giving me the sign when to run away. "And that's how I slayed the beast with just a carrot, anyway my time has come but thank you for listing to me, you old hag." digs in small bag and flips a golden coin "for your troubles." runs away like the seed of light.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: To prevent me from powergaming I would step back from the situation and figure out the best realistic solution for that situation. And respond in a simple format to where the other player can understand. For exp If my character was being attack by another rp player with a hammer the best solution would be to dodged it and hopes it lands depending on the next move that other player makes.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming takes the fun out of roleplaying by being told of information from an outside party. By doing it you take out the fun of learning in-game knowledge and skills. This is a weapon that could ruin other players immersion which wouldn't be fun.
