Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Gloria allows her gaze to sweep over the contents of the tent before her eyes snap to the old woman. "I hope that you have not been waiting long. Rimaykullayki, Yachachiq." She gracefully gathers her dress and lowers herself to the cushion, her back straight and head held high with practiced poise. "I would welcome your wisdom. I have been far away from my birthplace for quite some time, in the homeland, learning about my people's culture. When I heard of what had happened to our people..." Her fists subtly clench for a moment, before she relaxes and smooths all emotion off of her face. "I knew I had to return immediately. I have come to support my family and my people- what is left of them."
Her expression is sorrowful, if muted. "Whatever comes, I will do whatever I can to ensure the survival of my family." A soft determination glimmers behind her verdant eyes, her mouth firms.
"I thank you for your hospitality."
Extra Backstory Stuff:
Gloria was born to the Leomonte family, a second generation immigrant whose grandparents immigrated to Aevos from Tawantinsuyu.
She has two older siblings, Anacleta and Alacran, who heavily integrated into Hypasian culture.
Concerned that their family was losing touch with their culture, her parents decided to send her to the homeland of Tawantinsuyu when she was seven years old, to grow up surrounded by her culture of origin.
The plan was for her to get married there and bring her family back to Hypasia.
However, before any marriage negotiations could be finalized, a war began and was lost, leaving her family stripped of all land and titles, making her rather unmarriageable.
Gloria has opted to return to her birthplace in order to find whoever is left of her once-great family.
