You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
"Oh, hi. I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to barge right in." I stick my hand out at the woman. "I'm Wren." The hag simply stares at me with her hand still out stretched towards the chair. "Right, of course. I apologize." I wince. "Again."
I sink down into the cushion. "I'm a traveler. Looking to settle down somewhere. Haven't quite figured out where yet, though I'm sure I'll find someplace suitable. I'm itching to get away from my clan. I feel as though theres not enough freedom for me to truly live." The hag continues her work, whatever it was, as she listens. "I'm 23 years of age, if it matters. I'm from Aaun, but I've been exploring these past few years. I think I'd like to settle down somewhere new." The old woman snorts, lifting her head back up to meet my eyes. "Well then, Wren, I wish you best of luck."
