    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I honestly like and appreciate RP in general, and I do understand that participating in something like this requires some responsability. When I do any action in RP, I always think first of my character and how strong he is, and of course, if it's something he would do. For me, RP'ing in a character is like escaping from our own reality and getting in their shoes, and sometimes not everything goes as we want - if my character can't or is too weak to do something, he won't. That's how everything works, and I have this in mind all the time.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is unfair and breaks the game in an unrealistic way. When I need to take decisions, I do take my time to think preciselly about what my character knows and thinks, so that I can take a realistic decision. Meta breaks the fun for everyone, and it can be very demotivating for the victims - and as I also wouldn't like to be one, of course no one else would. Even if some information might even be pure gold, it's not fun to just "take" it.

Roleplay Scenario:

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Oh, greetings, ma'am," Enkan chooses his words carefully, his eyes floating around the cosy tent, "I'm... a distant traveler who's seeking for a peaceful place to stay 'n relax, heard this town might have its own little space, no? Wait, my story..." as Enkan walks forward, he approaches the cushion and sits in the middle of a sigh. "Well, I'm just a loner with nothing much in life, y'know? My father..." his voice falls down and his eyes roll over the floor, "he used to be a warrior but he was killed a few years ago. My mom couldn't stand it, so she took her own life without leaving anything back, I guess her mind got totally shattered, " he forced an awkward smile. "So... I spent some time by myself, met some nice people and now I'm traveling around the world to clear my mind."

 

Enkan makes himself comfortable on the cushion while his gaze drives again around the place, "In case you're asking, about this... people... well, I can't say they're all around anymore, but some chose to follow their own paths while the others..." he doesn't sound much comfortable while speaking but at the same time, it's as if this arrow in his chest had to leave. For a second, he remains still with his gaze now fixed on the floor, "they killed her... for no reason. They took her away." Like light clearing up the night, a subtle smile appears on Enkan's face. "But it's fine, they won't be a problem anymore. I made sure it's alright! So... how's the town? Do you have any recommendations?"
