Dolus is from a northern land called Skandia, his father was captain of the guard and he never knew his mother. He spent many cold seasons in a secluded despair as he pondered his place in his home. Before long Dolus was found to be considered a useless runt which caused his father to resent him. A year into his shunned life, Dolus fled his home to seek a new start. After days at sea he found himself on the edges of The Holy Empire of Man, a strange but bustling realm. Dolus now seeks to live a full life in what he hopes to be his new home, surrounded by people who may show better kindness, and faith than that of his forsaken father.
The traveler has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
(Traveler) Standing in the doorway in a defensive and cautious manner "You've been expecting me? You only just met me. I come from the north and a seek a fresh start in a new place."
(Hag) Sitting on the other side of a simple wooden desk, hands held together in anticipation. "Is that all you have to say, how vague."
(Traveler) Now leaning against the doorframe but close enough to the exit to make a quick exit. "If I told you more that would be rather silly, I won't give away my background or intentions to just anyone."
(Traveler) Looks around the small room to check for any unwelcome surprises. "As for what I seek to make of myself, well that's still undecided, I guess I'll enjoy the freedom and adventure and just live with the days."
(Hag) Hands now resting on the table, a small look of impatience crossing her face. "Won't you at least tell me your name?"
(Dolus) Standing at attention, half facing the doorway and ready to leave before he lets on too much. "I am Dolus, Dolus Frey"
