In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is the usage of information from outside of the game that your character couldn’t possibly know. For example, if my friend tells me about a specific resource node in discord, I can’t simply go directly to harvest the resource. Another example could be a magic user attempting to cast a secret spell that can only be taught by a teacher just because the player read about the spell in the forums and thought it was cool.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Power gaming is when a player gives their character more power than it should realistically have in any scenario. It could be the case that a player is trying to make their character kill a creature much larger than it in a single hit. Or it could be as simple as a very old, frail character being able to run the entire way to another city.

Myrtle Peregrin (formally Myrtle Fernpot) was born in Bramblebury. Her father left the family shortly after her birth to perform research in the wilderness. Myrtle never knew much about him because her mother, Edith, avoided that subject. Edith was a humble farmer and a cook. She loved the forest and often took Myrtle down to the woods to collect ingredients for dinner. She taught Myrtle how to forage, navigate, and how to appreciate nature. In the evening, she would cook the most wonderful meals for Myrtle and their neighbors. She also shared her faith in Lord Knox with Myrtle. She raised Myrtle to be a proper halfling. In time, as Myrtle grew older, her mother grew ill. Myrtle had just reached the age of 33 when Edith passed. Inspired by her mother’s illness, Myrtle was determined to study alchemy so that she could make potions to improve the lives of her family and friends. Upon her mother’s death, Myrtle was taken in by Iris Peregrin. Iris’ altruistic spirit reminded Myrtle very much of her departed mother. She felt right at home from the first time they met. As for Myrtle’s father, no one knows his whereabouts. Perhaps, one day he will return.

Character Name: Myrtle Peregrin
Character Race: Halfling
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 33
Physical Description: - overalls with a green shirt and tinkering goggles
- long, curly, blonde hair
- one green eye and one blue eye
- 2' tall and 35lb
Roleplay Scenario:

Myrtle jumps back upon the man's greeting. Her brow is furled and she's holding her arms over her ears. She's obviously overstimulated from the hustle and bustle of the city. It's a wonder that she heard his question. "The college." she says shakily. "I'm going to study at the college. Do you know where it is?" She removes her hands from her ears to listen carefully for the man's response.
