Gardees

Tim grew up with his mother in the cave in north of Haense. He spent all his childhood hunting wild deer, hares and martens.
Mother never told Tim about his father, and why they live detached from cities and towns. On the other hand, Tim did not ask such questions, because he did not know another life.
Together with the ability to shoot accurately from a homemade short bow, Tim acquired a panicky fear of wolves that lived in northern forests. A wolf howl still haunts him in nightmares.

The boy never saw people other than his mother until the day when looters passed near their cave chasing an expeditionary group from Haense. For this reason, 14-year-old Tim lost his mother.
Only God knows how this young man, who was not at all ready for a battle with a man, managed to escape from a looters gang.

After several days wandering through the endless northern forests, Tim came across the Haeseni village - Dumbur. The local old blacksmith Hoodin, the owner of a small bungalow on the edge of the village, was the first to notice a dirty and exhausted guy lying in the pouring rain against the wall of his own house. Hoodin for a moment saw in Tim his son - Gardees, - who disappeared a couple of years ago in a local forest. The blacksmith brought Tim to his house, got him on his feet in a week, and became his stepfather.

Because of his hermit life, Tim eschewed large companies and noisy places like the local tavern "Copper ladle". The roar coming from there and the cries of drunkards reminded him of a wolf's howls.
Tim poorly understood the speech of Hoodin and other residents, so the old man couldn't find out the boy's name and began to call him Gardees.

For 5 years, Gardees helped his stepfather in the forge, learned how to forge simple tools for local farmers, bring a game from the hunt. And every night he was tormented by questions to which he couldn't find a single answer: "Why did we live alone, away from other people?", "Who is my real father?", "Did he abandon us?"

Hoodin realized that Gardees need the answers, so he sent him to New Reza.
