Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
The character walks into a swampy town, glancing around at the crooked wooden shacks as the heavy smell of wet wood hangs in the air. Feeling nervous, they step inside a torn tent illuminated by softly floating candles, then slowly sit down when an old woman gestures toward a worn cushion. The character hesitates before speaking and says, "I don’t remember much about my past—only flashes of water, metal, and the feeling of being chased." They lower their gaze and continue, "I don’t even remember my own name, and I’ve been traveling for a long time trying to find answers." After a brief pause, the character looks back up at the woman and adds, "I came to this town hoping someone might recognize me, or know what happened to me." When they finish speaking, the character sits quietly, hands resting in their lap, waiting to see if the old woman truly knows their story.
