In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is using knowledge your role-played character would not have access to in world to your benefit (OOC, social media, internet, etc.)
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Using emotes to force outcomes on other players without giving them a choice, eg. Oaksmuir's history begins during the Black Scourge of Anthos. His grandmother, a Mali'Ame and druid named Selvyn Tarine, provided healing to a Highlander seeking refuge from the scourge in the wilds of Anthos. He had been grievously wounded by a  Harbinger, but Selvyn prevented  his death. Later during another attack, Oaksmuir's grandfather helped protect Selvyn, saving her life and forming an inseparable bond. From this bond, Oakmuir's father Amroc was conceived after the couple had fled to Athera. After Oaksmuir's grandfather died in the destruction of Athera, Amroc fled with Selvyn to Vailor.  There they set roots in Laureh'lin where Selvyn continued Druidism and Amroc began studying and dedicancy on his own path to follow the way of the Aspects.  It was during Amroc's dedicancy that he met a dissident Mali'Aheral, named Keelay, who sought the path of dedicancy and would become Oaksmuir's mother.

After Oaksmuir's 9th birthday he fled Vailor with his parents and grandmother to Axios. During his eighteenth year, tradgedy struck when an attack killed his entire family in their sleep.  While still mourning, a stranger appeared late one night claiming to be a relative of his grandfather's.  He revealed to Oaksmuir that his grandfather was actually Adunian, and had fought the undead onslaught of Al’Ildic, fleeing across the sea with other refugees. His grandfather, Alboras Caellach, assimilated into the culture of the Highlanders to avoid disdain before meeting Selvyn. The stranger also explained that his grandfather had been a Bowie nomad, hence the family's tradition of the Bowie knife.

Traumatized, by the loss of his family and unsure of his identity, he began wandering Atlas, searching for a place and purpose.  Many regions he visited were unaccepting of his mixed lineage, even when not revealing himself as Adunian.  Descended of three races, and feeling not a part of any, Oaksmuir wandered for many years, working a range of jobs, or using knowledge of  nature from his grandmother and family to live off the land. During his travels he heard rumors of a giant wall to the south. He also began to hear murmurs of a new disturbances in the land and was reminded of his family's dedication to preserving the balance in nature. Oaksmuir came to the decision he would follow his family's path and so sought out the Grove of the Savannah to begin his dedicancy.  He felt driven to restore balance, right wrongs, and of one day investigating the mysterious wall in person.
