You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

" I am a stranger in a new land i departed my home in the north and traveled far by sea intending to reach the great trade port in the south but my ship was dashed on a shoal by a wretched storm. i survived by pure miracle from that disaster. i clung to life and managed to survive that fated day although i have no affinity to float. i washed up in these lands and have been wandering these wastes ever since.

Example: "it was indeed a fated day no normal cave dwarf would have survived such an encounter. you are a special dwarf and not just because you always smelled slightly of pickles,(heheheeh) you have a destiny that no other has you will one day rise to new heights and i will give you the first violent but necessary push in that direction."


"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…
