As a child, Jonebij fantasized of becoming a sailor, as his father was a sailor for the East Melle Traders Co. As he grew up, his father taught him how to wield a sword and how to defend himself. He quickly became a masterful swordsman. One day Jonebij had an opportunity to aid his father in a task to deliver goods to the Snow Elves on the port Fenn. That fateful day, the ship was attacked by the Black Ring Pirates. The whole crew died, except for the young Jonebij, who was hiding within the kitchen with his friend Garson. The Captain of the Black Ring Pirates Runsog the White, found them as the sink was shipping, and took them in and sheltered them. Jonebij swore he would grow up and avenge his father, killing the man who aided him and grew him as a foster son. As he became older though, he realized that he could not kill his foster father or the his new friends within the Black Ring Pirates. He realized they were his brothers, and that they meant the world to him. Captain Runsog the White, became sick from malnutrition and scurvy. His last dying breaths were to make Jonebij the new Captain of the Black Ring Pirates. From then on, he protected and kept the Black Ring Pirates alive, by doing what ever was necessary, whether it be killing or looting. His friend Garson, became his deckhand. On his foster father’s birthday, he went to visit his grave and left his crew at the nearby town to relax. After he visited his father’s grave, he saw his crew was no where to be seen. He checked his ship and no one was there, something was not right. He looked everywhere and couldn’t find his crew, but at the dawn of the next day of his father’s birthday, he saw their lifeless bodies hanging in a row, as a crowd of people were watching on. His memories of both of his father’s dying, and this event destroyed him. He was now lonely and had no where to go and no one to be with. Now being the ex-pirate, he has flashbacks of his memories and his only way of coping is getting drunk. Now, Jonebij tries to find a new crew, but things would never be the same.
