    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is defined as having knowledge from outside of RP or game and using said knowledge against other characters you're playing with. Things that your character would have no way of knowing but, giving them that information. A good example is being in the same room with a player and them explaining their character's backstory. Then, with that knowledge, your character knows all about theirs without having even met them.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is forcing an action onto another's character before they can even respond or act themselves. Essentially taking control of their character with or without their permission. A good example for such a thing would be getting into a fight with another character and forcing them to not block or killing them instantly.

Rielle couldn't help but gawk at the vast space before her. Everything was so loud and crowded, she felt like she was being swallowed by the crowd the longer she stood there. The scents of spice and perfume overwhelmed her senses, the breeze forcing it into her lungs. The halfling was frozen momentarily, the sound of a welcome ripping her from her stupor.

She turned to the voice, glancing up at the man speaking. "Oh, I just wish to see what the world has to offer.", she replied, giving him a smile in return. "It seems that I underestimated just how bustling this place would be."

She didn't hesitate to put her hand out for him to shake. "I'm Rielle, what would be your name, sir?", the brunette asked kindly. What luck! Just a few steps off the boat and she was already finding kind folk. Unless, perhaps, he was a merchant wishing to lead her into buying his goods. Either way, this was an excellent beginning.
