There was a rather shocked look on her pale face as her hand went up to her chest. She could feel her heart beating through the fabric and in her ears. Blue eyes stared into the man's brown ones as she stood, shocked, for a moment or two, at his rapid-fire question. She parted her lips to utter a simple phrase.
"Family," she simply put, sorting herself out before finally walking along the creaking dock and into the city. She found her way through the bazaar eventually, but not after stopping to gaze upon a few fine wares. She didn't buy anything, however, though tempted she may have been. Money was no longer a luxury she had. She only wanted to find her way to the gate where her brother had been waiting. Yes, it was only a few minutes walk there, to the safety and quiet of the countryside.
