    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when your character does not know something but the player does and they act upon the knowledge instead of having their character know about it. This can also be when you are friends irl but not in rp or vice versa. For example if I discussed possible rp events and someone told me they were planning to attack my character I could not start preparing for an attack like my character knew of it.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: powergaming is when you make a character unrealisticly powerful and it becomes not fun for anyone else. Characters need to have weaknesses and flaws to overcome instead of just being perfect demigods

Read the scenario below this box and type out inside of this box how your character might respond. You must show an understanding of quoted dialogue and exposition throughout the scenario.

 

**Eliza snarls. "Enough with your stupid pleasantries. where is the best fighter here?"

"Best fighter?" **the merchant looks confused

"You heard me." **she looks around to see if there was a guard, if she punched the man would a guard approach her?

"Well there is the martial academy of fighting if you would want to enroll. It would cost a pretty penny though" **he looks up and down the tribalistic orc "maybe more than you could afford"

**Eliza's ears perked up at fighting she heard nothing else "YES enroll me or whatever. Take me to it." 

**The merchant laughed: she wouldn't survive a day in the high class boarding school. But if she had money... **he smiled "right this way maddam" 

(note there was a little description of their intentions that is not good for rp... but because they could not be revealed in taking the scenario farther I put them in)

Physical Description: Eliza is a green skinned orc that is tall by human standards: 6'5 but short by orc standards. She has long braided hair green eyes(not enough wor)

  • Your Metagaming Definition is on the right track, but needs more detail. Take another look at our Wiki’s definitions for help, and I recommend including an example so I can tell you fully understand!

  • Rule Answer: CRP is the default for any conflict, unless both sides are okay with pvp. In which case the losing party will either be spared or killed by the winner. /d40 means you 'pop' which is what we call a mechanical death, and depending on the rp lead up you where either just very injured or killed. Someones pops can happen accidentally so you just carry on as if it didn't happen. I hope this clears it up but if not let me know and i'll try to explain it better!
