In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is taking information given to you OOC and using it in the RP. Say someone told me that their character was allergic to milk, and I turned around and had my character stab him with a milk tipped blade.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming occurs when a character performs a feat they typically would be unable to. An example of this would be a situation in which someone who normally has to walk with a cane suddenly can run at fast speeds and perform martial arts.
    Status: Accepted

Born in the final days of the Grand Kingdom, Runnir is a cave dwarf of unknown parentage, being adopted and raised in the capital city of Kal’Omith. At the age of eight, Runnir was adopted by a lone doctor by the name of Rorin. While not a particularly affluent man, Rorin was a learned individual, raising Runnir in his footsteps, with a strong work ethic. Serving as an apprentice to his father, he soon discovered saving, and protecting people to be his passion, and he embraced his profession with open arms.

When the War of the Beards begun in 1631, Runnir, along with his father Rorin were quick to lend their aid in the conflict, supplying Urguanite forces with medical assistance to the best of their ability, though the father-and-son duo would soon suffer from financial trouble. Unable to continue their business during the chaos of the war, the clinic soon went out of business, instead leading to Rorin and his son following their only remaining source of income, the battles.

This all changed in 1635. Runnir and his father had followed Urguanite and Orenian forces to Fort Kovakirr, setting up temporary shop there. When the Coalition attacked, Rorin would be slain by Alchemist’s fire, dropped upon the defenders. Alone and without a penny to his name, Runnir left Dwarven lands one year later, refusing to lend his talents to those who had won the war.

And so Runnir wandered for many years, traveling from the realms of men, to the realms of elves, and to neutral lands, never settling down and instead offering his services as a doctor to whatever village he came across, tuning his skill further, if not being professionally trained. Come the time of Atlas, he would settle himself, for a time, in the lands of Sutica, it was here where he would ultimately meet the catalyst for his new life.

Runnir would come across the sight of a small battle outside Sutica, several dead, several wounded, chief among them a dwarf in Urguanite armor. It was here he met Jorvin Starbreaker, a resident of Agnarum, and it was him who would inform Runnir of the news from the small dwarven kingdom. The Kingdom of Kaz’Ulrah had fallen, and the Frostbeards were exiled from the realm by king Fimlin, hearing that those who had slain his father were no longer, Runnir joined Jorvin on his return trip to Agnarum, to rejoin Dwarven society.
