Gales Howkins was born to a lowly family, bustling fishing town, in the kingdom in Curonia. His father was a fisherman, who taught his son how to be a sailor. Gales learned the knots, the rigging, and how to navigate a ship out at sea. His mother was the village herbalist. Being the herbalist’s son, Gales learned some light herb knowledge. When Gales was not on the sea with his father or with his mother, he would spend time with the village hunters learning how to track an animal, how to skin one, and learned some archery as well. Gales education is rather limited. He can read simple things and do simple math, but he struggles outside of that. All through out Gales’ childhood, he always felt like there was more than a town that always smells of fish and pray at the local Church of the Canon. When the War of Two Emperors erupted, Gales saw this as his chance to go on his adventure. Gales signed up for the kingdom’s navy. During his service Gales became more proficient with his archery skills and picked up some sword skills. Gales meet women at ports, but never was attached to any of them. Gales left the war relatively unharmed, only losing a piece of his ear, and went back home to see if he could settle down. Eventually his blood craved action. Gales packed what few things he owned and set off to find more adventures.
I smile broadly at the finely dressed gentleman and reply, “I’m the same as another traveler friend. I’m looking for adventures, excitement, and new tales to bring home!”
