Anastasia wrapped her silk scarf tighter around her head as the wind blew her chestnut hair into her face. The salty air held a chill, causing the young girl to scurry off the unboarding deck of the ship, searching for a warm tavern or inn to rest for the night before heading off once more in search for Oren. Before her was a sight like no other- booths with bright colored banners lined the streets while inhabitants of the city bustled around, pinging from one shop to the next, some heading into a pub dreary and others exiting with blushed cheeks and frisky smiles. Stunned by the culture difference of the city against her small village, she stood still with her mouth agape as a lanky, well-dressed gentleman took place in front of her sporting a large, yellow smile.
"Welcome!" He began. "What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?" The man leans in with a raised brow as Anastasia takes a step back. She was uncomfortable with the sudden outburst of energy this must-be extrovert had just exhibited. Picking at her cuticles, her eyes would wander to the ground beside the man's feet as her mouth frowned into a scowl.
"I have come to ford a new life and take advantage of the bountiful opportunities I have seen available for someone of my stature." She refused the man eye contact, as she thought about the glorious city that awaited her. The man only looked at the girl with a confused face, his eyebrow still raised. He must have been puzzled by the thick accent that smothered her words, or perhaps it was that the volume of her voice was too low for him to understand. Unwilling to follow through with a conversation of the like, the man offered a hand to Anastasia, which she had taken, shook it and smiled.
"I wish you luck, Madame." With a tip of his hat, he'd swivel on the ball of his feet to the opposite direction, soon lost in the crowd of colors before her.
