You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"Salam!" After a small bow, I sit at the cushion she is gesturing to, "As-salamu alaykum. My name is Tora Jemu I was raised among different elven cities, as my parents were more comfortable moving around than staying in one place. At an early age I aquired the desire to learn and share stories and knowledge among all types of people. Living among the elves I have learned to live with the land, and in so doing learned the ways of gathering and foraging. I have been taught to upkeep my hair and appearance, and wish to keep that culture and tradition while I travel and learn of my place in this vast expansive world we live in." With a smile, I take a moment to admire the candles suspended in the air in wonder and curiosity, then back down to the eyes of the old hag.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I will act the character's age and attributes while in-game. I won't do things outside of the abilities of the character. Doing something not feasible for my current roleplay character.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It provides an unfair experience and ruins the roleplay environment and feel. A character should develop and grow within the in-game, gameplay experience.
