    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is using knowledge that you as a player possess that your character would not. For instance if I were to read the about all of the lotc lore and incorporate that knowledge that my character would have no way of possessing for roleplay, that would be metagaming.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is giving yourself an unfair advantage by “playing to win” rather than “playing your character” for instance making yourself an immortal being whom can’t be harmed by any means would be powergaming.

If the stranger does not then he would proceed to look for someone else to give him directions.
