Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Kelvahn breathed, recollecting their thoughts as memories of the past few days flooded their mind. "It all started in my village. I was raised by two adoptive parents, who were both human. I was the only elf in our village. Even thought it made me an outcast it was still my home. We didn't have much, except for a library where travellers from across the land would visit." The dark elf smiled a bit, before it fades and they continue the story.
"One night, a fire broke out. We all tried to stop it, but several homes were lost, including the library. The villagers were angry. They..."
Kelvahn paused, fighting to keep tears from welling in their eyes, before regaining their composure.
"They accused me of starting the fire, and exiled me from my home."
The two of them sat there silently, Kelvahn clenching their fists as they swallowed. "It was... horrible..."
"A few days later, I arrived at a neighboring town, and they also just had a fire break out the night before. What caught my attention was how similar it was. It began from their library. They also had eyewitnesses, of someone who was also an elf, though if it was a dark elf they didn't say. Though they were wary they were kind enough to inform me of where the perpetrator went. So, these last few days, I have been following their trail, hoping to catch him, and make him pay for what he did."
The wind blew through the curtains, the candle light flickering as the old hag looked on to the weary traveller, face now marked with determination.
"My home may never accept me again. People will still find ways to blame others... but the least they deserve is the truth."
