Keldan was born in a large forest unknown to many races, which was populated by a seed of Wood Elves. He has two siblings, a sister named Aewyn and a brother named Camus. In Keldan's seed, he was given the last name of Rydel which was of his birth parent's, who passed away during a hunt 100 years after he was born. Because Aewyn and Camus were the only other two elves to be born in the community, they were also passed down the name of Rydel. This was to form a bond between the three which would carry them through many hard times.
As Keldan grew he found joy in leading his two younger siblings. He and others from the seed gave Aewyn and Camus tasks that would help them develop into important figures within the seed. As time passed the leaders of the seed stepped down from their roles and passed leadership until one day it was Keldan's turn to lead. Keldan was a strong leader and was good to the elves of his community, he assigned roles to the citizens of the seed and there was peace for many years.
One day Keldan was out hunting with Camus and came across an Orc body which had been decaying for what looked like days. The Orc had many stabs in its chest and was cut at its throat. This alarmed the two and caused them to return home quickly. When they returned they told the community of their findings and formed a group of elves to search the lands around their forest to make sure there was no danger. After many days of searching they came back home empty handed. Although they did not ever find the cause of the dead Orc, they were uneasy to remain living in their forest. So Keldan elected to move the seed to a new land.
As they moved away from their home, they met a foreign elf from the land of Atlas. He told them of a place called Dominion and with this new knowledge they set out for Atlas. As their journey progressed, the seed decided to break off to other lands and eventually only Keldan, Aewyn, and Camus were left. They continued all the way until they made it to the land of Atlas.
