    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is any action that a player uses to force the other players character into an action they do not wish to do: "Golard pushes Nerros down the stairs instantly killing him" this of course is a silly example but I think serves well as one.

Like any other of menfolk Vernasi is using the gift of mortality the creator of our world gave him to further himself in one way or another. He studies happily and travels with wonder hoping to see, hear and drink it all up. A poet at heart (Considering he is far too bad to earn coin in this way), and a helpful youth he often is found seeking the closest tavern or a place of cheers. He is a simple traveler and one of his many quests is to visit every tavern and drink every drink. His hopes and aspirations are to make wines like an elf, brews like a dwarf and drink them all like a halfling. He often disregards the evils in the world in a clumsy attempts of escapism. More at hand with a sword but hopelessly romanticizing the bow he shuns fights if he can and prefers to run away. He loves the simple joy of watching crops rise from soil and grow golden as much as singing a badly rhymed poem and riding fast horses and he truly is a person dedicated to enjoying life. A traveler he may be but he knows and is proud of his humanity. A proud citizen of the Empire of Man he often visits the empire and enjoys the many art and architecture there hoping as well (as he is a man of many hopes and dreams) to add to the many spires and building fronts. His curiosity leaves him hungry often and besides the need of food he seeks tidbits of information and lore. He is currently seeking more information of many historical figures; the wealthy and gallant High King Syrio Forel a figure Vernasi would very much like to finds less traditional rulers an interesting and fascinating field of study.

His history is one he dislikes talk of. He ran from his family early aged 16. There was no plague or attacks or even bad parenting. He just felt the call to wander and wanders he does still. Shunned by his family and for a good reason he took on himself a new name as a traveler of world to further cut ties. Love interests are a fleeting thing to him as he feels it would only further be a tie to cut when it starts drowning him and anchoring him down. 

He enjoys pipes and often likes to collect discarded tidbits like rocks, shiny glass, or minerals.

Physical Description: A lanky and cheery looking man with a fresh young face, brown hair and glint of wanderlust in his eyes.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
