Born to the Sana family in a small canopy village of Vectra, Kaiya was raised a single child by her mother and father Speklahn and Tainu. Kaiya spent most of her earlier years traveling the Canopy and learning the medicinal and religious properties of the forest's floral diversity, though she never left the forest. During her travels, she became very spiritual as nature worship was plentiful in the 'ame communities. When Kaiya was 11, her home village was attacked by a small group of exiles that did little damage, but murdered 6 people, including her father. Her mother, Speklahn, was devastated, and quickly became recluse. 10 months later, Kaiya's mother went missing, but it was known to the townsfolk that she had jumped from the canopy and was devoured by Scalebacks.
Following her mother's death, Kaiya began traveling once again, never staying in the same town or city for very long, throwing herself into her research. As she traveled, she came to be known as the wandering Cerridwen, for her kindness towards others and her care for nature stood out. Now at 19, Kaiya has decided to leave The Forest to expand her research and explore the rest of the world.
Kaiya is startled by the man, and takes a moment before speaking. "I've come to explore," she smiles.
"Ah, an adventurer, I see! Well, welcome to the bazaar. Name's Castogan, pleasure to meet you." He grins and outstretches his large, un-callused hand, to which Kaiya accepts in a handshake.
"Kaiya," she returns and nods her head. The man offers to show her around the Bazaar, to which she politely declines. "I much appreciate your kidness, but I'd much rather tour on my own." Kaiya did not feel comfortable spending time with another person. Her discomfort bubbled over and she quickly began to look around, avoiding the mans gaze. He drops his smile, squinting his eyes ever so slightly to study her.
"Very well... I must be getting on, then. May we meet again." Kaiya watches as the man turns on his heel to walk in the opposite direction, disappearing in the crowd of shoppers.
