You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

I sit down calmly, facing the old lady. Somehow, though it is filthy and run-down, I felt at ease here. Perhaps because this was much different from all that I'd ever known before. 
—"I come from across the mountain," I pause and take a deep breath, "I was sent here by an old friend. Word is, willing adventurers are in high demand around these parts."
From inside my pocket, I slowly pull out a folded piece of paper. I hand it to the lady, who unfolds it to reveal a painted picture of a girl. 
—"She is the true reason I am here. She was my home, until she was murdered. My whole world unravelled when I was reached by the news that she'd died," I wipe away a tear running down my cheek, before I continue; "Ever since, I've been feeling... unfounded. Now I cannot settle down: I have to keep moving, to escape the memory of her. That is why I've come here, to join in an adventure, one which can only end one way I imagine..."
