    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is avoided by respecting limits; you character's limits and other players' freedom to choose their own outcomes. You describe what your character tries to do, not what automatically happens, and you stay open to failure, collaboration, and shared storytelling rather than trying to "win" scenes.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay because it breaks the boundary between what you know and what your character knows, giving your character unfair advantages and undermining the shared story. When a character acts on information they shouldn't have, it removes tension, invalidates other players' choices, and makes the world feel less believable.

Character Age: 23
Physical Description: Dark and muscular body at the height and weight of 6’ and 180lbs.
Dark and mysterious style with dark grey hair, dusky skin and red sharp eyes.
Roleplay Scenario:

Vaerith gets into the tent, his massive frame outlined by the candlelight. 

 

His stirring red eyes fixed on his controlled gaze as he says with his low voice, "I am Vaerith, shaped by night and guided by my ancestors".

 

He explains that the sprits led him through the mire, urging him toward this forgotten and shadowy place.

 

His face sharpens as he adds, "They spoke of someone waiting; someone who already knew my path".

 

He leans forwards slightly, shadows shifting across his dusky skin. 

 

"What brings you so far from home?", the old hag mutters.

 

He speaks further, "I was an outcast at what I once called home".

 

"While my kin was embracing the mother moon I always looked for what the elders forbid".

 

"My starvation for power and knowledge of the unknown is real, and is the reason I got rejected by the past and brought to this place of the future".
