Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

He barely registers her words as He adjust a rotten leather strap that's been holding his shoulder plate in place. He then turn to face her before shifting his chest plate as well, "Well there's a job I heard about out here, and the pays decent enough for a week's stay." he then spits his chew into the spittoon by the entrance of the tent before taking a seat. "So are you my contractor, I don't plan on staying in this dump longer then I have to". He then chuckles a little to himself "And if you want my story, it'll cost extra" he says rubbing his fingers together with a sly grin.
A jaded soldier hailing from a fallen nation, he clings to hope as he travels as finding work and making a living to pay for the only person he has left, his son. He sent his son away to live with an old friend and has been sending almost every bit of money he makes back to them, but terrible news of his son's fate has yet to reach him. He now wanders looking for a decent job with his blade and a tree to lay his head under.
