Hailing from the Kingdom of Norland, Strem Grassarrow grew up a fighter. His Father was a warrior just like his father, and his father before him. His ancestors fought in the Coalition Wars. Strem's father, Agnar, would send his boys out on regular hunts for the family. On one hunt they bagged a huge prize, an elk, it would feed the family for weeks. While Strem and his younger brother, Ramun, were packing up the meat and other useful parts of the elk, a gang of thieves came upon them. They wanted the elk, but Strem's family would starve without it. Strem drew both of his battleaxes, and his brother drew his sword. The brothers were putting up a great fight, but there were five thives and only the two of them, they soon overwhelmed the brothers. Strem cleaved one of the thieves with his axe, but was knocked out by the Warhammer of another thief. When Strem woke up he saw Ramun lying with a dagger in his chest, gasping for air. A thief shoved his sword deep into Ramun's heart, killing him. The leader of the thieves walked over to Strem. "Let you remember us with this," the leader said as he cut across Strem's face, blinding him in one eye. Strem sprung up in a fit of rage, grabbed his axe and split the leaders head, killing him. Strem then walked alone on the road. He couldn't go home after letting his brother die, he decided to build a house close to a city, but not too close, and live off the land.
