You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Lokenkee blinked for a brief moment, but a wide, toothy smile spread across his face. "Ah! I see you've heard of me! I guess my reputation proceeds me." He followed her gesture and sat himself down on the cushion. "Oh, I'm certain you wouldn't be too interested in my past. Just a humble travelling purveyor of goods. Now what I CAN interest you in is what I have to sell! Give me a moment!" He pulled up his bag, starting to peruse through it. Though just by looking at it, one could tell there wasn't exactly a lot in there.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I always make it a point to avoid powergaming when it comes to RP. I almost tend to go a bit far in the opposite direction, often putting myself at an unfair disadvantage (ie; downplaying my character's capabilities, having them fail a bit too often, etc).
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It can make it far too tempting to try and twist things to exploit the knowledge you know OOC, rather than having things develop naturally. It also invites the possibility of powergaming, which is something that should be heavily avoided.
