Olyn grew up to two adoptive parents in a small self sufficient farming settlement. He was naturally gifted in the art of agriculture from a very young age and as he grew older he developed a conceit and pride. This was shattered once when he entered a pumpkin growing competition and he had failed, growing the smallest one in the batch, due to a week long binge of wine drinking and tavern going. On the day of the competition he was humiliated and became fearful of the laughing and jeering of others.
Due to his personality, he didn't have many friends, mostly drinking buddies at the bar. Despite making a fair big of money due to their farming they would waste most of it on alcohol and other luxuries. Eventually his parents revealed to him he was adoptive, and altough he was heart broken, he never truly felt integrated into his community.
Upon his 100th birthday he parted ways with his parents and his community, spending a few years travelling on the road visiting other countries, mostly their bars. Until he heard of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, he figured since dwarves tended to live in or on mountains they wouldn't have strong agricultural power, and thus they would respect his skills. So he set off to Urguan to earn a living, and maybe even find out more about his true lineage.
Wealth mostly, not much for adventure. On the topic, do you know the nearest place I can sell my wheat? Oh, and the nearest tavern too!
