    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagame refers to the use of out-of-character knowledge in-character. For example, I'm sent a message via Discord about someone trying to rob my friend, so I go and try to help him.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is an attempt to force an action on someone, or trying to do something impossible/unrealistic with your character. An example would be, saying my character suddenly flew into the air, did a backflip, then plunged his sword into another characters head.

A light clinking is heard as the man comes to a stop, "Huh?" Aldous' brow furrows in annoyance, "Look, unless you're going to offer me a job, get lost."

 

He would continue past the man, further into the market. Checking over his shoulder now and then to see if he's being followed.
