Lyrassu

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

" Oh, uhm, hello Madam... " I state a bit taken aback. " My name is Lyrassu, but most people just call me Lyra for short. " I cautiously look around, then at the cushion. " I am originally from Störheim, where my parents conceived me. " I sense no threat in the perimeter. I make my way to the cushion and sit down. I proceed with my story " As the oldest child of four, I was expected to be the "protector". My parents were fierce warriors, and they did not relent on their education towards fighting. As soon as I was able to balance on my two feet properly, my training began. They were relentless on their eldest daughter. They always told me how prideful Highlanders are of their strength, how I was needed to protect. So even if I was very ill, I was out there with my parents in our training hall. " I sigh. " But honestly, I can see the positive effects of my relentless training. " I look down to my hands, then back at the hag. " My parents were still very loving in their own way. Even if we didn't express our love to each other, we would show it. They knew my limits. My siblings were all trained too, but not as relentlessly. " I start to relax slowly. " My family was not poor, but not rich either. I had everything I needed growing. It was money my parents saved up from their prime days, they still worked at the market some days when they could. Me and my siblings would help when needed. " I take a gourd out of my backpack. " Our mother always was very nagging on one thing. Since I am a woman, she always told me to be elegant. Which honestly I did not mind. I liked being pretty. It helped me through my puberty. When I was told to leave home to explore on my own, my mom gave me this yellow hair relic. She told me it would protect me if things got dense. " I take out the artifact out of my hair. " It will always remind me of home. "
