You’ve just stepped off of the boat in the port of a massive and fortified city. Before you lies a sprawling bazaar, with numerous shops, stalls, and seated traders selling wares to folk of all walks of life. Just as you’re about to continue walking onwards, into the market, you’re approached by a well-dressed gentleman who looks upon you with a big smile. “Welcome!” He began. “What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?”

Tom finishes looking about before turning to the man, a smile slowly creeping across his face. "Greetings, friend." He says. "I am but a traveler. I seek nothing but good company and a place to lay my head at night."
The man lets out a hearty laugh. "Hoho, you're in luck. A new tavern has opened up recently, very popular here. Come, I will show you."
Tom nods, then extends his hand. "Thank you, I'm James, by the way."
"My name is Edgar," The man said as he led them through the bazaar. "My family is very influential in this city, which is why I tend to be the first one people see as they arrive."
"Oh, how interesting." Tom said, smirking to himself.
The two arrived at the tavern, then began to chat about the city, with Tom absorbing everything and plotting along the way.
