You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
As she cautiously walked into the tent, trying not to touch anything to avoid getting dirty, she was startled by the old lady. "My—" her hand instinctively went to her heart. "You startled me there." She let out a sigh of relief, tilting her head slightly to the right as her ears twitched, reacting to the fact that the lady seemed to know her. After a moment of thought, she carefully sat down on the cushion, avoiding anything that looked 'filthy.'
"Aahh... yes..." She paused for a second, her finger resting on her lips. "Well, I seem to be quite lost," she said, scratching her head with a small chuckle. "I was born into the Akaln'riv household, a family renowned for its wealth and influence. My twin sister and I grew up surrounded by luxury, where every moment seemed like a lesson in politics, magic, and maintaining appearances. From a young age, we were taught that the family name was everything, and that reputation was as valuable as gold."
She took a breath, relaxing her body as she settled more comfortably. "The Akaln'riv estate, with its grand halls and serene gardens, is a place I cherish. It’s not just where I was raised; it’s a part of me. My sister and I share countless memories there—secret corners we discovered as children, quiet moments under the stars, and endless laughter. We've always found comfort in one another, and there’s never been a need to seek anything beyond those walls. Together, we’ve navigated the complexities of our world, and together, we’ll continue to protect and honor our family’s legacy." She rambled on with a soft smile, reminiscing about her past.
"Unlike many who grow restless with such a life, I’ve never longed for anything else. The world outside might be full of adventure and mystery, but for me, there’s no place more fulfilling than the Akaln'riv household. With my sister by my side, I feel complete—content to embrace the life we’ve been given and to carry forward the strength and grace of our family."
