You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

The sights and sounds seemed not to bother her so as she'd visited many of places that possess similar scenery. She took her seat upon the cushion as to not insult the old woman. "A story is what is wished... where shall I start?" A momentary silence as thoughts ran through her mind. "At the start I would imagine but which start... hmm, the grove is good as any." She interlocks her fingers together. "Beyond the forests of new and passed the trees of old... a small but great grove was born. Tended and nurtured from the ancient seeds rather. Here is where the Elders would teach the young of survival, reliance, and perseverance amongst many other things. Through the passage of time, as one would imagine... such fledglings would need take flight for themselves as one cannot truly comprehend the ways of the realm being coddled in their nest for eternity." She thumbs to herself and pauses a moment. "Thus quite a few fledglings donned their wings that day to fly amongst the morning dew... walked rather. And in this flight over many of weeks a new Seed was born amongst the many. A Seed constructed from Elder's teaching as it was always to be." Another pause as she sighs. "However, this Seed did not last long as the terrors of the unknown would take those that were ill-prepared... the ones that did not remember their teachings. One by one the malevolence of the realm would pick off each new fledgling until only a single one remained." A single nod. "This single fledgling would survive, would perservere, and would rely on the wilds to keep it safe. Beyond mountains that claw the skies, through lush jungles that could strangle the fiercest big cat, and over seas that would swiftly swallow any that did not show her respect... this fledgling flew. Flew as hard as any fledgling could to find her way, to find her balance, to find others that had made the perilous journey, to be renewed." Another nod. "Now, if I may ask... please do share your own story with me."

((OOC: The story told to the hag could be seen as the Wood Elf's origin. Her denotation of fledglings and flight could be seen as an analogy of how young birds are raised and pushed to leave the nest rather than a true account of her history being any sort of winged avian creature. Capsulated, the Wood Elf and many others were forced to leave the grove to experience life first-hand as was the way of her traditional homeland. During her migration she had formed an extension Seed/Tribe with other young Wood Elves from the grove to journey with before she arrived to the dank town after many long months of travel through jungles, forests, mountains, and over seas. Upon arriving to the village she seemed to be the sole survivor in search of her kin, her own personal renewal, and to continue her pilgrimage into these foreign lands.))
