You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Leopold frantically searches for the words in his head to talk to this woman but to no avail. Sweat starts to form on his head as he stares into the hags dark and decrepit eyes. Finally he states, "I have come from a faraway land that has been riddled with rot and chaos, monsters and beasts alike, that brought my homeland into its calamity. The townspeople tried to fight back against these hardships but could not overturn these hardships, many of them even gave their lives for the fight." Leopold noticed the old woman's brow raise, questioning what happened next. "I was tasked to slay these unholy beasts, and fought these creatures for months before deciding to set off on a journey to find other heroes like myself to take on these beasts and bring my homeland back to the thriving town that it was." Leopold had hoped that the old hag believed his story because he did not want to have to explain to this woman that he had ran away from simple thieves and muggers.
