    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Having my character act based on OOC information they would have no way of realistically knowing. I.E. a person OOC telling me they hid treasure then my character magically stumbling into said treasure
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Having my character perform feats that they couldn't realistically do. I.E., a halfing emoting pummeling an orc to death

You’ve just stepped off of the boat in the port of a massive and fortified city. Before you lies a sprawling bazaar, with numerous shops, stalls, and seated traders selling wares to folk of all walks of life. Just as you’re about to continue walking onwards, into the market, you’re approached by a well-dressed gentleman who looks upon you with a big smile. “Welcome!” He began. “What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?”
How do you respond?

 

Heinrich leered at the gentleman with suspicion, looking the man up and down as he blustered, “Whatever it is you plan on selling me, I’m not buying! I’ve been pestered by pan-handlers all afternoon an-“. The man suddenly tenses up as though overtaken with a realization. Quickly leaning in to the gentleman’s ear, he hisses through his visor, “Lets talk somewhere a bit more...discrete..”
